Iloilo City Peace and Order Council 100% Functional

The Iloilo City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) got a perfect score in 2021 POC Performance Audit of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office 6.

Mayor Jerry Treňas said the recognition is a testament to the success of the city’s collaborative efforts in maintaining peace and order, public safety, and security in the metropolis.

“Padayon kita nga magatinguha para maproteksyunan ang aton mga pumuluyo paagi sa padayon nga pagbukas sang mga programa kag inisyatibo nga mapakusog ang aton konseho sa peace and order,” Treňas said.

DILG-6 Regional Director Juan Jovian Ingeniero who is also the Secretariat Head of Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) released the results recently.

“After a thorough assessment of the documents by the Regional Audit team, the City Peace and Order Council garnered 100% in 2021 and 87.50% in 2019, above the national average,” Ingeniero stated.

The national average ratings are 73% and 75.52% for 2019 and 2021, respectively, he added.
Iloilo City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ICADAC) also got a high functional rating of 90% in 2021.

“Allow us to recognize the City Peace and Order Council for its significant contributions over the past years. We congratulate you for the exemplary performance as a council,” Ingeniero wrote Treňas.

“The Department looks forward to the continued exercise of duties and responsibilities for the improvement of the CPOC’s functionality. May you continue to be our partner in implementing our peace, security and development agenda towards building peaceful, orderly, and safe communities,” said Ingeniero.

CPOC serves as platform for stronger collaboration of City Government with law enforcement agencies and community to fight criminality and illegal drugs, and creates an enabling environment among its members to harmonize and effectively implement peace and order and public safety activities.

The RPOC audit was conformed by Police Regional Office 6, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6, Department of Health 6, and a Civil Society Organization. (via Iloilo City PIO)
