Cash aid to beneficiaries in Iloilo City

Iloilo City Government through City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) distributed financial assistance to 156 beneficiaries on March 29.

The recipients were 33 daycare workers, 24 supplemental feeding workers, 32 fire-affected families of barangays Rizal and Lapuz, 43 trainees of Technical Institute of Iloilo City (TIIC)-Molo Campus, and 24 Uswag scholars.

Daycare workers and feeding workers helped and served fire victims in Baluarte, thus, the cash aid was handed to them as an act of appreciation for their kindness and willingness to serve fellow Ilonggos.

Uswag scholars were given assistance for their educational purposes.

CSWDO head Teresa Gelogo said the City Government gave P2,000 each to daycare workers; P2,000 each to TIIC-Molo trainees; P5,000 to supplemental feeding workers; and P5,000 each to Uswag scholars.

P5,000 each was given to owners of partially damaged houses and P10,000 each to owners of totally damaged houses in Rizal and Lapuz.

“The City Government is providing financial assistance to those who are needy, and we are willing to help in indigent’s hospital bill, laboratories and medicines. The assistance is being extended to beneficiaries with complete requirements,” she added.

Gelogo said volunteers during crisis rendered their services, thus, to recognize them, the City Government gives them incentives for their effort and dedication. (Alexandra Jover/Iloilo City PIO)
