Treñas thanks Ilonggos after emerging as WV’s highest-rated city mayor
Mayor Raisa S. Treñas expressed gratitude to the people of Iloilo City after being recognized as the highest-rated city mayor in Western Visayas in the latest RPMD Foundation Inc. “Boses ng Bayan” Index of Governance (IOG) survey.
Treñas credited the recognition not to herself alone but to the collective efforts of city government employees, partners, stakeholders, and Ilonggos who continue to support the city’s development agenda.
“Salamat, mga pinalangga nga Ilonggo. Ang ini nga pagkilala indi lang para sa akon, kundi para sa tanan nga nagapangabudlay para sa mas maayo nga Iloilo City. Salamat sa inyo pagsalig. Padayon kita sa pagserbisyo kag pag-uswag, upod ang bug-os nga siyudad,” the mayor said.
The survey, conducted by RPMD Foundation from April 1 to 8, 2026, ranked Treñas first among city mayors in Western Visayas with a 78.2 percent Index of Governance, supported by a 77.8 percent trust rating and a 78.6 percent performance rating.
According to RPMD, the results reflect strong public confidence in the mayor’s leadership and favorable assessments of her administration’s governance initiatives, infrastructure programs, public services, and responsiveness to the needs of residents.
The survey evaluates local chief executives based on public trust and performance across key governance areas, including leadership and vision, fiscal management, infrastructure development, social services, public safety, environmental stewardship, disaster preparedness, transparency and accountability, digital governance, and responsiveness to citizen concerns.
Treñas said the recognition serves as an inspiration for the city government to continue working harder and delivering meaningful programs for Ilonggos.
She emphasized that the city’s gains are the result of teamwork and a shared commitment to building a more progressive, inclusive, and responsive Iloilo City.
The mayor also reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to sustaining programs that improve the quality of life of residents while ensuring that development reaches every sector and every district of the city.
The RPMD survey covered 5,000 randomly selected respondents across Western Visayas and forms part of the organization’s nationwide “Boses ng Bayan” Governance Assessment Program, which measures public trust and governance performance among local government leaders.
