#PadayonKita gallery of winning photos of the 83rd Iloilo City Charter Day

First Place: Arnold Almacen Camalig, Jaro, Iloilo City

  • The Iloilo City Government raised a call for Ilonggo photogs to join the 83rd Iloilo City Charter Day Photo Contest to show the beauty, charm, and uniqueness of Iloilo and the Ilonggo people.
  • Around 400 photo entries were submitted from participants in the Student/Novice and Professional/Amateur Categories.
  • Photojournalist Arnold Almacen emerged as the first prize winner in Professional/Amateur category while Registered Nurse Donfel L. Sanglay bagged the first prize in the Student/Novice category.

The Iloilo City Government presented the winners of the 83rd Iloilo City Charter Day photo contest last August 25, 2020 with the theme: Ilonggos at the Forefront of New Normal.

The initiative encouraged Ilonggos to explore the hidden beauty of Iloilo City and play the resilient character of its people in in the period of the pandemic through photos that show skills and artistry.

The entries to the contest were photos captured by camera between August 1 to 21, 2020.

Criteria:

  • 40% – Content and Adherence to the Theme
  • 30% – Artistic Value and Communication Potential of the Image
  • 20% – Technical Excellence and Quality
  • 10% – Uniqueness and Originality
  • 100% – TOTAL

Winners: Professional/Amateur Category

First Place: Arnold Almacen of Camalig, Jaro, Iloilo City
Second Place: Ian Van Cubing of Mandurriao, Iloilo City
Third Place: Kristian B. Meneses of Pali Benedicto, Mandurriao, Iloilo City

Consolation prize winners are the following:

First Place: JO1 Donfel L. Sanglay, RN of BJMP, RO VI-Health Service Division
Second Place: Almira Aquino of Ungka II, Pavia, Iloilo
