The new 30/36 MVA Mobile Substation of MORE Power Iloilo has arrived in Iloilo City on Thursday, December 8. It is now stationed in Molo Substation to temporarily served area of coverage while the latter is being rehabilitated.
The new 30/36 MVA Mobile Substation was purchased by the company from Aktif Elektroteknik of Turkey and supplied by the EEI Power Corporation. The former has 40 years of experience in manufacturing electrical equipment and mobile substations.
Parts of the mobile substations such as power transformer and switchgears were sourced out from ABB of Italy and Siemens of Germany.
MORE Power sent a team of engineers and its legal department to oversee the Factory Acceptance Test before the equipment was shipped to Iloilo.
According to Engr. Wilmar Gonzaludo, MORE Power’s Substation Project Manager, the mobile substation is the only standalone substation in the country complete with primary 69kV side up to 13.2kV side which can operate without the need of additional construction or equipment.
It also features the state-of-the-art PASS M00 system wherein the major 69 kV equipment- power circuit breaker, current transformers, potential transformer, disconnect switches, and other control elements are in one package.
The mobile substation will be switched on January 2023 to make way for the rehabilitation of the old Molo substation.
This is part of the 5-year rehabilitation plan of MORE Power to modernize its entire facility.
