Hotel Del Rio, established in 1965, is a forerunner in Iloilo’s hospitality landscape. With its name referring to ‘hotel by the river’, the property holds cultural significance, opulence, and grandeur.

Nestled along MH Del Pilar Street in Molo, Hotel Del Rio was the brainchild of Manuel Gay Loring Jr and wife Milagros Causing Ledesma. It was built beside the Iloilo River, thus the name ‘hotel by the river’.

The hotel started with 33 rooms and two function rooms, blending Spanish-European architecture and aesthetics. By 1975, 24 rooms were added to the property.

In 2009, Alfonso Tan leased the property, continuing the legacy of the hotel. To date, Hotel Del Rio houses 59 rooms, six function halls, a swimming pool, a restaurant, among others.
